Tim McCloskey, Wood Artist

Tim McCloskey grew up in central Pennsylvania, surrounded by an abundance of natural resources and people who used those resources for practical reasons, but creatively, as well. His mother will joke that they did not realize Tim was colorblind until he started painting his bedroom the most uncomplimentary colors. Tim used his colorblindness as an advantage, however, by focusing on depth, light, and texture, rather than on color.

After finishing art school, Tim worked for Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, putting his digital design spin on websites and theme park promotions. In 2004, Tim moved to Florida to work for Disney and has since spun his magic, not only behind the scenes with his digital work, but in his wood mosaic art that allows guests to see characters made with natural resources through a technological lens.
